Woodland Cemetery & Arboretum Expansion Project

BSC is proud of our ongoing collaboration with the Woodland Cemetery & Arboretum expansion project.

As the final resting place of the Wright Brothers, Woodland Cemetery is an important cultural institution in Dayton. The expansion project seeks to build on the historic character of the cemetery in developing an ambitious expansion plan that aims to enhance both its physical footprint and its role within the community. The project envisions an eastern expansion and considers the evolving needs of a diverse and dynamic community. Woodland Cemetery seeks to accommodate a wide range of burial options that reflect contemporary values and choices such as Cremation Gardens and Green Burials.

We are also actively contributing to enhance the cemetery’s historic character, providing advice on restoration work in the historic chapel, the redesign of the main entrance plaza and the incorporation of outdoor spaces for “Celebrations of Life.” These areas provide a positive and uplifting atmosphere, focusing on honoring the unique journey of the departed.
