MassDevelopment Town of Lancaster, MA
Old Common Road Conceptual Site Reuse
BSC provided planning and environmental engineering services for MassDevelopment and the Town of Lancaster for the state-owned Old Common Road site. The approximately fifty-acre Site consists of a campus that was established in 1854 as the Lancaster Industrial School for Girls, one of the first reform schools in the country. After the school’s closure in 1975, the campus functioned as a minimum-security correctional institute, and more recently was occupied by DCAMM Surplus Properties Division.
The final deliverable was a written report and presentation to the Select Board on the existing conditions and constraints analysis, environmental site assessment, including four conceptual redevelopment scenarios, including 3D massing models and graphics.
