MassDOT On-Call Environmental Services

BSC Group is providing on-call construction assistance to assure compliance with environmental permits for construction of state and interstate roadways and highways to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation’s Construction Division. Expertise provided includes erosion and sedimentation control inspection, roadway design and layout guidance during construction, wetland science, water quality science, and rare and endangered species evaluation.

Sample tasks have included: development of wetland mitigation plans, monitoring of two large wetland replication areas (totaling 77,963 square-feet), including relocated streambeds, implementing innovative approach (IRIS tubes) to assessing hydric status of soils for replicated wetlands.

On-call services have also included wetland delineation for state and federal wetlands, including extensive floodplain wetlands in highway layouts and along rail trails and multiple stormwater improvements projects.
