MassDOT Bridge Inspections, Ratings, and Rehabilitation

BSC Group has provided bridge inspection services, statewide, for the Massachusetts Department of Transportation. Under this contract our structural engineering team members have performed field inspections and prepared reports for numerous structures. Bridge types inspected have included a full range of concrete, steel, timber and masonry structures. Inspection data was collected and compiled in accordance with NBIS requirements, and all fatigue prone and fracture critical elements were identified. BSC prepared traffic maintenance plans for inspection of structures crossing over high volume roadways. Inspection teams utilized access equipment such as bucket trucks, barge-mounted aerial lifts, under bridge access vehicles and rigging to ensure that we performed hands-on inspection of every bridge element.
