Environmental Permitting Services for MassDOT Bridge Replacements
BSC has been providing environmental permitting services for a variety of MassDOT bridge rehabilitation and replacement projects. These projects involve preparation of environmental documentation in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Representative tasks have included: conducting desktop/database hazardous waste release review; NEPA – Categorical Exclusion (CE) Checklists; wetland resource area delineation; USACE Section 404 General Permit – PCN (Category II); MassDEP Water Quality (Section 401) Certification; Impaired Waterbody Assessment and Water Quality Data Form; wetland restoration/mitigation design assistance; construction monitoring and reporting for wetland restoration; attending public meetings; and rare species impact assessments, requiring coordination with the NHESP, USFWS, NMFS, and DMF on Atlantic sturgeon habitat protection, sea turtle habitat, and essential fish habitat.
