Environmental Due Diligence for South Coast Rail
BSC Group supported the South Coast Rail Project with environmental engineering services, as a subconsultant. The South Coast Rail Project, currently in construction, will provide expanded commuter rail access to Fall River and New Bedford in Southeastern Massachusetts.
BSC assisted in the development of an Environmental Management Plan and Contaminated Soil Management Plan to prepare for construction phases of the project. During design and planning for the project, BSC prepared over 60 ASTM Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) Reports for numerous properties to be acquired. The project schedule required the implementation and management of up to 30 Phase I ESAs by BSC over a short period of time. Many of the properties warranted further assessment and BSC implemented numerous ASTM Phase II ESAs including soil borings/monitoring well installations, groundwater sampling, UST geophysical investigation, and preparation of ESA reports.
