Edgewater Trail

Located in Boston’s Edgewater neighborhood, the Edgewater Greenway project offers the chance for DCR to fulfill its mission: “to protect, promote, and enhance our commonwealth of natural, cultural, and recreational resources for the well-being of all.” Through a partnership with the community, DCR proposes to transform this part of the Neponset River Reservation into an inviting and safe linear park for the community.

BSC Group has been given the opportunity by the DCR to assist with the development of a design that will transform a neglected urban natural and cultural resource in an environmental justice community, while creating and important neighborhood connection to the Neponset River and the Neponset River Greenway. Highlights of the design include new openings and access through the historic WPA-era granite cobble wall, ADA accessible trails, overlooks providing views of the river and improvements to habitat value, while also improving the water quality of stormwater flowing into the river.
