Conservation Land Management
BSC Group developed ten Land Stewardship Reports for Conservation owned properties. Each report provided an overview of a specific parcel of land, which included site access, recreational uses, trail networks, and strategies for protecting resource areas, flora and fauna. BSC also developed comprehensive Land Management Plans for both Bells Neck and Island Pond Conservation Areas, which are known to be home to threatened, rare and endangered species. The studies conducted by BSC assisted the Town of Harwich Conservation Commission in identifying short-term and long-term management priorities for the two properties for the next five to fifteen years. The properties contain diverse habitats ranging from upland forest, vernal pools, reservoir, salt marsh, bordering vegetated wetland, tidal and non-tidal river, and cranberry bogs.
