Connecticut Riverway Trail

BSC was retained by the Town of Old Lyme to provide planning services for the proposed Connecticut Riverway Trail system within the town’s shoreline area. BSC planned a four-segment trail system that traverses approximately four miles of area and is a combination Greenway-Blueway that will embrace both inland features such as wooded areas and the river/Long Island sound shore area. BSC prepared information that included visual graphics to depict land use, trail routing, and typical cross-sections as well as cost estimates for each segment of the project, and summaries of potential funding sources. The trails will enable public access for walking, running, bicycling, in-line skating, and handicapped accessibility, and will enhance access to the waterfront for canoeing, kayaking, and fishing.
