Athol Master Plan Update

BSC completed a partial update of the Town’s Master Plan. We conducted community outreach and updated two existing chapters of the Town’s Master Plan and created a new chapter related to public health. The project included creation of a vision statement, top goals and objectives, and updated chapters pertaining to Open Space and Recreation and Natural and Cultural Resources to reflect their strong interest in supporting agriculturally based businesses and natural resource protection. The project also included the creation of goals and objectives related to public health, a topic of growing interest for the Town.

The process included an online survey, a community meeting, and regular meetings with a Master Plan subcommittee. Team members also attended and presented our work to the Board of Planning and Development and the Select Board. The Master Plan Update was adopted by the Planning Board in June 2024.
