Recognizing that public infrastructure projects are about connecting people and communities, BSC’s project team for the Hartford Avenue project in Old Lyme, CT, initiated the effort with a walk through the project corridor. Project principal Kurt Prochorena and landscape architect Jesse Harris took a back-to-basics corridor tour, stopping along the way to talk to residents and learn about their vision for the project, which will be funded through a $400,000 Community Connectivity Grant.
This process was featured in a Connecticut Examiner article that highlighted the boots-on-the-ground approach to BSC’s latest phase of work along Hartford Avenue. The article quotes Kurt Prochorena, “Today is a great opportunity to walk with the committee and folks that live in the area on the street and really for us to listen to your needs and concerns.”
