The American Planning Association has selected the Neponset River Greenway as one of the 13 Great Places in America for 2019. The trail, which spans the City of Boston from its border with Milton to the Dorchester neighborhood, embraces many of the ideals of trail design: active transportation, waterfront design, connections to public transit, and linkages to diverse neighborhoods and social justice communities. The next phase of the trail, recently initiated by BSC Group, will tackle issues associated with climate resiliency as the trail traverses an area prone to flooding, most notably during the King Tides.
BSC Group has provided a full range of design services along different trail segments. From civil design and traffic engineering, through landscape architecture, drainage, environmental permitting, and climate resiliency planning, BSC’s work has always focused on the larger vision of providing a vibrant trail network along the riverfront within an urban community.
