The Naugatuck River Greenway Routing Study, which is currently being prepared by BSC Group for the Naugatuck Valley Council of Governments, was featured in the Register Citizen. The article discussed the benefits that the project will bring to the region, including health, recreation and economic development.
BSC Group is supporting the project by conducting a routing study that considers such issues as access and connectivity; construction cost and maintenance; environmental constraints; and potential permitting needs. Once the preferred trail route has been determined, BSC will be charged with designing the trail to include overlook/vista opportunities, connections to businesses, accessibility, and landscaping.
In the article, project manager Rob Pinckney, PE noted, “This routing study is a key part of moving the Naugatuck River Greenway forward. It will ultimately provide options that ensure the greenway meets each community’s long term needs and that the investments made are well-spent and provide the most benefit to residents.”
