Yesterday, several prominent individuals as well as neighbors and community activists attended the dedication of the new K Street HarborWalk, a 1,000-foot-long public access path located along the Reserved Channel in South Boston. The HarborWalk includes a 400-foot boardwalk structure, benches, overlooks, ornamental lights and railings, viewing binoculars, and interpretive signage. BSC provided landscape architecture design, environmental permitting, surveying, and public participation services for the construction of the HarborWalk, which was part of a larger project to expand the adjacent NSTAR electrical substation and provide a landscape buffer between the station and area residences.
