Last month, BSC Civil Engineer, Ericka Nunez, EIT, participated as a panelist for Holyoke Community College’s Engineering Pathways Program, an initiative hosted as part of the HSI Implementation and Evaluation Project: Western MA Engineering Pathways Program.
This program, funded by the National Science Foundation’s (NSF) "Equity for Excellence in STEM" award and supported by organizations like the Society of Women Engineers, is dedicated to fostering stronger connections and pathways into STEM fields for underrepresented communities.
During the panel, Ericka shared her journey as a Latina engineer, highlighting the challenges, triumphs, and opportunities that have shaped her career. This impactful discussion aimed to inspire students from diverse backgrounds to pursue careers in STEM and showcased the critical role of community colleges in achieving equity and excellence in these fields.
We’re incredibly proud of Ericka for her dedication to creating equitable opportunities and for representing BSC with such passion and resilience. Her hard work is making a real difference, and we commend her on this amazing accomplishment!
