Exciting news in the world of international wetlands! The Sri Lankan Cabinet has approved submission of a Draft Resolution on Rights of Nature in Wetlands to the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands.
As part of the Darwin Initiative project to operationalize Rights of Wetlands in 5 countries, the Wetlands International, the International Water Management Institute (IWMI), Cobra Collective UK, the Society of Wetland Scientists Rights of Wetlands Section, and other partners including BSC Group, supported the Sri Lankan Government in the development of the Draft Resolution, which will be shared with Signatory Parties and discussed at the July 2025 Conference of the Parties (COP15) in Zimbabwe.
