BSC Group was recognized by the Connecticut Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects for the innovative master plan for improvements to Oyster Shell Park in Norwalk, CT. The award was presented to BSC Group at CT ASLA’s annual holiday party and awards dinner.
The Oyster Shell Park project received a Merit Award in the landscape planning and analysis category. The awards program recognizes excellence in landscape architectural design, landscape planning and analysis, landscape architectural communications, and landscape architectural research.
The Oyster Shell Park master plan employs a number of visionary innovations that will make the riverfront park stand out as a leading public amenity. Using art, education, and environmental conservation as themes, the plan incorporates renewable energy, riverfront restoration, and outdoor classrooms to attract and engage the public. Turbines and artistically-designed solar panels will power the park while stimulating the park users.
In addition to the Connecticut ASLA’s Merit Award, BSC’s plan for Oyster Shell Park was also recognized by the Boston Society of Landscape Architects.
