The Town of Avon, CT has hired BSC Group’s Glastonbury office to design a new athletic complex on Thompson Road, as well as prepare plans to be presented to voters at a town referendum. The project scope involves preparation of design plans to include a multiuse synthetic turf playing field, parking lot, and installation of lights to permit games to be played at night. BSC Group has done similar projects in the past, including Tolland High School stadium, Uxbridge High School Athletic Facility, Western CT State University stadium field replacement, and numerous other school and town athletic facilities throughout the State of Connecticut.
The proposed location of the athletic complex is a 15-acre plot of land owned by the Town of Avon on Thompson Road. The complex would be adjacent to a bike path that travels through town and near Thompson Brook School. Design of the new athletic complex marks the culmination of a decade-long planning process since the Town of Avon acquired the property in 2003.
