Two recent articles have been released commemorating Veolia North America’s “Green Steam” project. BSC Group provided survey and traffic management services for Veolia North America in regards tot he installation and construction of an 18-inch concrete encased steel steam line spanning over 7,000 feet between Cambridge and Boston. “Green Steam” is an innovative environmental project that captures and reuses heat that was previously lost to the environment, resulting in the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by up to 475,000 tons annually in both Boston and Cambridge.
BSC Group’s survey crew provided almost all of the surveying work for the successful project. The temporary traffic control plans implemented by BSC accommodated the installation of steam line while minimizing the construction impact on motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists. Both articles, one written on High Profile and the other on the Boston Globe, further examine Veolia Energy’s “Green Steam” project and their efforts to “Go Green”.
