Pittsfield City staff members and community partners gathered this Tuesday at a press release to announce their award of $353,562 in funding under the state’s Complete Streets Program. The grant will benefit 10 sites throughout the City and will involve improvements to sidewalks, curb cuts, signals, bike lanes and other elements intended to make streets safer for all modes of travel. Pittsfield Mayor Linda Tyer emphasized how the City nearly met that maximum award amount, which indicated the strength of the application and empathized the significant impact the proposed projects will pose on the community. BSC assisted in identifying the 10 chosen projects and supported the application process on behalf of the City.
