Responding to the accumulation of glass, plastic, and other garbage along the banks of the river running through Blackstone Gateway Park in Worcester, city manager Edward Augustus Jr. and other city personnel coordinated a cleanup with volunteer groups and organizations from the area, including College of the Holy Cross. BSC’s own Casey-Lee Bastien – the lead landscape architect for the design of the park that kicked off construction earlier this year – joined approximately 25 volunteers in the four-hour long effort which utilized ten-yard dumpsters and city trucks to haul away trash from more than half the length of the site.
