BSC’s landscape team celebrates with Worcester City officials and neighborhood residents for the opening of Castle Park in Worcester, MA. BSC has been involved in every stage of development for this public park, from initial planning, to design development and construction monitoring.
BSC was first retained by the Town in 2013 to survey the existing conditions and prepare a comprehensive Master Plan for the rehabilitation of the park. The completed Master Plan set the stage for turning a deteriorated property into a neighborhood asset where people of all ages now come to gather and enjoy the parkland. The new park includes sitting areas, a new basketball court, a multi-use court, a children’s playground, outdoor exercise equipment, an asphalt walking loop, increased surveillance (achieved through selective vegetation removal), accessible parking, and new entrances at multiple areas.
